About

I'm Ashir Imran. Like the front page mentions, I'm a CS alumni from UMass Amherst, and I'm currently working as a Software Engineer at Citizens Bank. I started off making my personal site as 1) a way to practice using frontend frameworks, and 2) create a portfolio that employers can look at to see my frontend skills and my projects.

As time has gone on, I've remade and refactored the site to be more focused on the things I enjoy. This still includes my various software projects, since I'm always interested in learning various tech stacks, frameworks, and creating cool things for other people to use. I enjoy a lot of music, movies, and video games, and I also enjoy talking about those things at length. I figure that this site can be a good place for me to write about the things I love, so that's the secondary purpose now. That's why this version of the site is built using simple HTML and Tailwind CSS using Astro instead of fancy Next.JS or React stuff, since I want something light and functional that I can keep on writing for.

I hope whoever's browsing ends up finding something interesting to look through, whether it's about Computer Science or whatever album I'm listening to at the moment!
